Do not be afraid to experiment with older instruments. Some of the older keyboards from the 80's and 90's can really give you a warm and amazing sound. Older keyboards that were made by Casio, were heavily used in the 1980's for Pop and Hip-Hop songs. I had a few nice keyboards from the 1990's. The one that stood out for me was the Yamaha V-50. It had a full production workstation built into it. Plus it had effects, real and step time editing, and much more. Older drum machines are cool too.
My favorite is the Alesis SR-16. Excellent drum and some bass sounds. I used this for years.
Using older stuff like this now can give you a nice vintage feel to your music. Try it out!
