Music Promotion Tools for independent artists!

When you are an independent artist, it can be a struggle to think of new ways to promote your music.
First of all, there are a billion other indie recording artists now. So it makes it harder to get people to listen to your music because most people are sick of all the junk out there.
Here is a short list of ways to promote your music.

YouTube
You should make a video for every song you have and upload it to YouTube. It does not even have to be a professionally directed MTV style video. Just use  Windows Movie Maker on your computer and make a video with your song that just shows different pictures of you performing or promo pictures you have. Then you can flash where to buy the song and your website across the screen too.

Twitter/HootSuite
If you have a Twitter account, you can sign up to HootSuite. This is a website where you can schedule tweets to be tweeted later in the day. It is pretty useful and you can write tweets the night before and schedule to tweet every few hours the next day. You can definitely stay in touch with fans using this method!

Live performances
Next time you have a live performance, have someone video record it. Then edit it, and put it on your website for fans to watch.

Social Networks
Be sure to join every social network out there. All of them can be helpful with promotion.
Join Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and more.

Business cards
Get cheap business cards made up that has your artist/band name, website, and a link to download a free song. Then give these out at every show you do, or any other place where there might be potential fans!

Artists and bands be sure to submit your music at these radio networks as well. www.hardcorejamz.com (Playing Hip-Hop and R&B)
www.hardcoremix.com (Rock,Pop,Country,Jazz,Electro,Gospel and more)
