Music Industry Jobs list

As you may know, there are many jobs you can get in the music industry that will put you behind the scenes. If you do not have what it takes to be an artist, you could still be involved in the music industry with a fun and promising career. Here is a small list of music business jobs.

Music A&R
The Artist & Repertoire (A&R), runs the department responsible for finding and signing new music talent. They also act as a liaison between the artist and record label.

Artist Manager
An artist manager can wear many hats, but they are mainly there to handle the artists business affairs.
They also should make sure the artist or band are on time and on schedule for events and interviews.

Tour/Road Manager
This position handles booking tour dates, and making sure the artist or band gets paid for such dates.

Audio Engineer
An Audio Engineer handles recording sessions. They will have knowledge of recording equipment, mixing songs, microphone placement and more.

Public Relations/Media Manager
This is the person who is the direct link between the media and the artist or band. There job is to schedule interviews and appearances, also to keep the reputation of the artist/band in good standing with the media.

This is just a small sample of the many jobs available. There are many more positions.
