Be sure to have mutiple versions of your songs

When you release a single, you want to have multiple versions ready to go out to radio and other promotional places. It is important to have the following:

Radio version - Of course this is a version with no cuss words.

Instrumental - You should always have an instrumental mixed for many reasons. One is that radio likes instrumentals to play in the background when they are talking. Television may also use an artists instrumental. DJs like them as well to mix too.

A cappella - This is a mix of just your vocals. No music at all. This is important for DJs. They use it to remix your music.

TV track - This is a mix of your song with only the music, ad libs, and chorus. The main vocal is left out. This is used for performances on TV. It is so an artist can perform without having to have other people on stage with them. This is used in Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B more. Not everyone uses this. It is up to you.

It is smart to have all of these versions, plus the album version on any promotional CDs you send to radio, Television, and DJs.

Artists and bands be sure to submit your music at these radio networks as well.
