Appeal to a wider audience with crossover collaborations

If you want to appeal to a wider audience that may have never heard of you, try doing a collaboration with an artist or band in a different genre. For instance, Rock bands can try doing a song with a Hip-Hop artist. Hip-Hop artists can try doing a song with an Electronic artist and so on. This will let people in that other genre hear your talent. That may spark a curiosity to check out your previous music that you have available. Many major label artists have done this in the past with great success.
Do not be afraid to try things like this. Have an open mind to other music genres and you will last much longer in the music industry. Here are some of the genres that have crossed in the past.

Hip-Hop with Rock
Hip-Hop with Country
