A music career means sacrifice

If you want a career in the music industry it will mean sacrifice. If you are an independent artist, expect to be gone a lot doing shows at night and calling people during the day. Expect to be constantly calling program directors at radio stations, newspaper reporters and music reviewers, booking agents, distributors and more. It is a full time job if you really want to make money doing it. You cannot release a CD and expect fans to magically find you and buy it unless you are promoting hard. These days most artists even have a music video now on YouTube and other video outlets. Technology and the internet have made things a bit easier for you to promote and distribute your music, but it is up to you to make things happen. Expect to spend money as well. It takes money to make money.

Artists and bands be sure to submit your music to these radio networks.
www.hardcorejamz.com (Playing Hip-Hop and R&B)
www.hardcoremix.com (Playing Rock,Pop,Country,Jazz,Gospel,Electro and more)
Submit music on either site. Award winning networks.

  1. Great to know you made a note of something as significant as this. It is definitely something I think about a-lot & take into consideration as an emerging artist myself.

It helps to be realistic & read realistic things about what it is we artists want from our music & what it will take to make it work...thank you for the info! :-)
