How to promote your music

When you release your music to the public you will need to heavily promote it if you want to make sales.
Music promotion takes time and you must put in work. Here are some tips.

1. Get full color postcards printed showing where fans can buy your CD. Include stores and websites where it is available. Pass them out at shows.
2.  Try and get the album reviewed at as many websites, blogs, Ezines and newspapers possible. Any media outlet that has a music review section.
3. Do as many shows as possible.
4. Give away 1 free song online.
5. Make a music video. These days it is fairly affordable to do. Put it on your website and Youtube. Facebook as well. This will help a ton!
6. Send your "single" to as many college radio stations as possible. Also send an Mp3 to as many online radio stations as you can find.
7.  Price the CD to sell. Unless you are a major act, with a large fan following, do not expect to get $15 for your CD. Most people do not want to pay anymore than $10. Most only want to pay $5. Just make sure you are still making a profit.

Artists and bands be sure to submit your music at these radio networks.
