Choosing a school for Recording and Music Business

When choosing a school to go to that teaches recording and music business, you should be aware of some important things. It can be a wonderful experience going to a school for music and recording because you will be able to meet and network with other musicians and studio engineers. Being in class with so many other people with the same interests is an amazing motivational situation. Keep in mind also that jobs are pretty scarce in the music industry. You just have to keep an open mind on what you want to do. Most schools have a Recording arts and Technologies program that are 2 year degrees where you will earn an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. Some places such as Full Sail in Florida, deal exclusively in audio recording, film and video games which is amazing. It is smart to have a degree especially if you are going for a job somewhere and it is between you and another person without a degree, I would like to think the employer would choose the person with a degree because it shows more experience and education in that field. These days most major colleges have a 2 year music and recording side program so check your local schools.
