How to copyright a song

Copyrighting your music will protect your work if someone tries to use your music or lyrics without permission. To copyright a song it should be in a completed stage. Next you go to http://www.copyright.gov and sign up for an account. The best thing about this is you can now register your song online instead of through the mail. This speeds everything up dramatically. Once your account is setup you can pay the $35 fee and upload your song electronically and fill out any online forms they ask you to do. After all is done you pretty much wait for the certification to come in the mail which may take 4 to 5 months but the good thing is your copyright is effective from the day that your materials are received by the Copyright Office.

Artists and bands submit your music to
www.hardcorejamz.com (Hip-Hop)
www.hardcoremix.com (Rock,Pop,Country,Jazz,Electro,Gospel and more)
Submit music on either site

  1. Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Firefox. I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I figured I'd post to let you know. The design look great though! Hope you get the problem resolved soon. Thanks sem services
